The insurance firm, Hippo reports findings from a recent survey that show 77% of homeowners faced unexpected repairs in their first year of homeownership. Of those respondents, 34% reported the repair to be under $1,000 while 13% spent more than $5,000. In this frenzy of a seller’s market many buyers are waiving a home inspection to make their offer more competitive. A thorough home inspection is always an important part of the homebuying process.
